We already know that the generals are NOT interested in upping the ante. Accordingly, the world conflict is now in Washington DC and the U.S. AND YOUR MIND. Except for a bunch of crazed neo nazi zionists in Israel, Americans are now pretty isolated and thus must now struggle mainly with themselves. Here below Thompson et al are clearly telling us that Bush has reduced himself to the inevitable estate of any pathelogical liar, he is unable to distinquish the truth and thus can no longer think rationally. Accordingly we have a full blown, raging national psychosis. All thought and actions are currently based on hallucinations, not trippy ones, fubars which cannot be distinquished from reality. The NY Warcast Machinery, as we know, are working 24/7 in ways which actually deepen the psychosis. BUT the ray of hope here is that organizations like Capital Hill Blue is now aware that 9/11 was a part of the criminal hoax and Amy Goodman has also finally come around, still with great hesitancy, to realize that she cannot continue to ignore the deep criminality of this disgusting Bush/Cheney regime. It is not a matter of ideology, issues, competency, programs, and winning debates, as leftists like to posit the world, it is about gangsters, corruptions, crimes, and mass violence where the coin in trade is lies and slap-bitch routines. We are in a vicious street fight where nothing is fair, legal, or just, and do not suppose otherwise.

It shouldn't surprise anyone that George W. Bush continues to lie to the American people about Iraq. Bush lies so much that it is doubtful now that even he can separate truth from fiction.
But the people who actually fight wars, unlike the coward-in-chief who ran and hid in the Texas Air Guard to avoid defending his country in Vietnam, say we are losing the Iraq war and cannot, under current operational strategies, defeat the insurgents who kill dozens, sometimes hundreds, of Iraqi civilians every day.
Marine Maj. Gen. Richard C. Zilmer, a senior American commander in Iraq, told reporters in a phone interview Tuesday that the U.S.-led coalition effort cannot defeat the insurgents with present troop levels.
Zilmer says he has the resources to continue training Iraqis to fight the insurgents but he does not have the forces to actually beat the insurgents.
"If there is seen a larger role for coalition forces out here to win that insurgency fight - then that is going to change the metrics of what we need out here," Zilmer said.
That's a startling admission for a general who was put on the phone by the White House to try and offset the damage by another military assessment that says American forces have lost control of Anbar province, an area now controlled by al-Qaeda.
A classified report by Col. Pete Devlin, Marine chief of intelligence for the Anbar conflict, says both the American military and the Iraqi government have lost control of Anbar to al-Qaeda and that al-Qaeda's influence is growing in Iraq.
Even Zilmer, the General assigned by the White House to put out the fire, won't lie for Bush about the report.
"I have seen that report, and I do concur with that assessment," he admits.
Which adds another irony to Bush's dirty little war. He lied about a so-called link between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaeda to justify his war to a gullible Congress. Now he admits such a link did not exist but he overlooks the fact that the American invasion of Iraq has given al-Qaeda a chance to gain a strong position in the country along with other terrorist and insurgent groups that did not exist under Hussein's rule.
Bush claims we must "stay the course" in Iraq because leaving would let the insurgents and terrorists take over. What he doesn't say is that it was the U.S. invasion that created the conditions that allowed the insurgents and terrorists to gain a foothold in the country.
Most residents of Baghdad must live without electrical power for parts of the day because the U.S. can't keep the power plants running. Most cannot venture out into their own city because the insurgents rule the streets, not American soldiers and certainly not the puppet Iraqi government that the Bush administration installed.

Most throw the talking points away. They know the Pentagon spin is bullshit and the President of the United States is a liar. And who can blame them for being bitter? Every rationale, every reason, every justification for invading Iraq has been proven false. It is a war based on and fueled by lies. They are booed and cursed as invaders and occupiers. Bush continues to paint rosy pictures of success as increasing numbers of American soldiers and Iraqi civilians die.
Yet the President will continue to lie and his lies will continue to get air play thanks to a well-orchestrated media manipulation program put together by his operatives.
"As the fifth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks unfolds, it has come to look less like a sad remembrance of the past and more like a troubling glimpse into the future, a window to a new-age totalitarianism that looms before the United States, where a powerful right-wing government tells lies aided and abetted by friendly media corporations, " says journalist Robert Parry, a former Newsweek and Associated Press reporter who broke many of the Iran-Contra scandal stories during the Reagan years.

So, even as the CIA and the Senate Intelligence Committee finally acknowledge some of the many Iraq War falsehoods told by George W. Bush and his senior advisers, Bush's misfeasance and malfeasance are obscured by Disney's ABC-TV "docu-drama" pinning most of the blame for the 9/11 catastrophe not on Bush, but on Democrats.
With Disney's selection of a right-wing director and with the secrecy that surrounded the project - that gave Democrats little time to react - "The Path to 9/11" also had the sickening feel of a collaboration between a giant corporation and the Republican government in power.
So, less than two months before a pivotal national election, with Americans increasingly wondering how the nation got into the mess it faces today, this joint project of Disney and pro-Bush operatives provides a narrative that focuses not on Bush blowing off CIA warnings of an impending attacks in 2001 but on events dating back to 1993.
Republican sources tell me Bush's political guru Karl Rove was "up to his eyeballs" in personal involvement with the ABC mini-series. That should come as no surprise to those familiar with Rove's modus operandi.

Karl Rove and other Republican strategists project what effectively will be a one-party state, with the Republicans controlling all branches of government, using the federal courts to redefine the Constitution and keeping Democrats around as foils and boogey men to stir up the conservative base with warnings about the enemy within.
On this fifth anniversary of 9/11, President Bush and his Republican supporters are trying hard to revive the lost sentimental unity that followed the attacks. But the saddest legacy of that tragic day may be that it marked the path toward the end of the noble American Republic and the start of a new totalitarianism.
Parry is right. What Bush and his band of co-conspirators have accomplished is no less than a coup to overthrow the government of the United States.

As sad as it may seem, rather than an abject failure, I'm now beginning to believe that Bush and his cabal's plans in the Middle East have actually been a resounding success from their point of view.
For their apparent collective "stupidity" has resulted in continued turmoil in the Middle East, which, in turn, allows the Government of Israel to continue its decades of racism, apartheid and hegemony in the region. What's more, Bush and Rummy's failure to "win the peace" in Iraq and Afghanistan has now virtually guaranteed that our troops will now be there for decades, which is exactly what the Government of Israel wants.
For decades, the Government of Israel has had both our Presidents and our members of the US Congress by the short hairs. Organizations like AIPAC (backed up by the ruthless scare tactics of the Israeli Mossad operating within our borders) have made absolutely sure of that.
Doug, you are absolutely correct...none of what the US is now fighting for in Iraq or Afghanistan has anything to do with finding weapons of mass destruction, bringing "democracy" to nations whose people haven't a clue as to what that word means, protecting our own "national security", or even lowering the price of oil.
Rather, I believe our continued presence in Iraq and Afghanistan has everything to do with keeping the developing Moslem world in the Middle East a constant state of turmoil so as to underwrite and enable the Government of Israel's obsessive need to expand both its borders and its influence in the region. The Government of Israel's recent shameful performance in southern Lebanon…dropping cluster bombs and anti-personnel munitions on civilian targets…should leave absolutely no doubt in anyone's mind as to exactly what the Israeli Government's real intentions are.
In that sense, this is a regional "holy war" with governments comprised of Christians and Jews (along with their willing allies) seeking nothing short of a complete "ethnic cleansing" of the developing Moslem world around Israel. This, my friends, is the real reason why our troops are now fighting (and dying) in places like Iraq and Afghanistan and why they will continue to do so for many, many decades to come.
What's more, this ongoing holy war also guarantees that billions and billions of your and my tax dollars will continue flowing into the coffers of the hopelessly corrupt US defense contractors along with their various lobbyists and "think tanks" (not to mention keeping all those campaign contributions flowing into congressional campaign coffers from the now-fully-employed defense constituencies "back home"!). It's a win-win for everyone. This is, of course, except for the beleaguered US taxpayer and our brave (mostly young) soldiers who are giving their very lives to underwrite such blatant apartheid, shameful collusion and systemic government corruption.
Regardless of who actually caused it, Bush and the neocons nonetheless used 9/11 as a pretense to invade Afghanistan and then Iraq. And mark my words, sometime after the mid-term Congressional elections and before the next Presidential election; another manufactured "retaliation" by the Government of Israel against Hezbollah (or some other manufactured terrorist "attack" somewhere else in the world) will be used as Bush's pretense to then invade the next country on the neocon "hit list"…Iran.
The turmoil in Iraq and Afghanistan is actually working out far better than even the neocons had hoped. It's providing even more cannon fodder than they'd ever dreamed they'd have to justify their chicanery to a largely ignorant (and therefore easily panicked) American public. This, in turn, insures the US Congress will continue underwriting their overall master plan for the USA to eventually rule the world as the 21st Century's global imperial super-power.

Rather, I believe our continued presence in Iraq and Afghanistan has everything to do with keeping the developing Moslem world in the Middle East a constant state of turmoil so as to underwrite and enable the Government of Israel's obsessive need to expand both its borders and its influence in the region. The Government of Israel's recent shameful performance in southern Lebanon…dropping cluster bombs and anti-personnel munitions on civilian targets…should leave absolutely no doubt in anyone's mind as to exactly what the Israeli Government's real intentions are.
In that sense, this is a regional "holy war" with governments comprised of Christians and Jews (along with their willing allies) seeking nothing short of a complete "ethnic cleansing" of the developing Moslem world around Israel. This, my friends, is the real reason why our troops are now fighting (and dying) in places like Iraq and Afghanistan and why they will continue to do so for many, many decades to come.
What's more, this ongoing holy war also guarantees that billions and billions of your and my tax dollars will continue flowing into the coffers of the hopelessly corrupt US defense contractors along with their various lobbyists and "think tanks" (not to mention keeping all those campaign contributions flowing into congressional campaign coffers from the now-fully-employed defense constituencies "back home"!). It's a win-win for everyone. This is, of course, except for the beleaguered US taxpayer and our brave (mostly young) soldiers who are giving their very lives to underwrite such blatant apartheid, shameful collusion and systemic government corruption.
Regardless of who actually caused it, Bush and the neocons nonetheless used 9/11 as a pretense to invade Afghanistan and then Iraq. And mark my words, sometime after the mid-term Congressional elections and before the next Presidential election; another manufactured "retaliation" by the Government of Israel against Hezbollah (or some other manufactured terrorist "attack" somewhere else in the world) will be used as Bush's pretense to then invade the next country on the neocon "hit list"…Iran.
The turmoil in Iraq and Afghanistan is actually working out far better than even the neocons had hoped. It's providing even more cannon fodder than they'd ever dreamed they'd have to justify their chicanery to a largely ignorant (and therefore easily panicked) American public. This, in turn, insures the US Congress will continue underwriting their overall master plan for the USA to eventually rule the world as the 21st Century's global imperial super-power.
